This family of four had a long, rectangular kitchen with a peninsula dividing the space into two smaller sections. They desperately wanted a more open floor plan, with a lot more storage and counter space. They also requested a modern kitchen with clean, contemporary lines and finishes.
As a result, an open, uncluttered floor plan was created. The new design incorporates a feature wall with a stainless steel chimney hood and cook top , a dramatic iridescent glass matchstick backsplash that extends from the counters to the ceiling. This design element helps make the space appear larger than it is, bring the eye upward and adding more visual interest.
A long, sleek slab of white Quartz counters and dark, rich cabinetry with contemporary, European-style slab doors and drawers finish off the look of this feature wall. By extending the cabinetry from wall to wall the client gained much more storage space, including a large pantry and broom closet.
The crisp, clean lines of the space offer the client a modern kitchen that addresses all of their room requirements in an aesthetically pleasing manner. |
