This two-story custom-built home is located in Coronado. The clients worked together with their architect in hopes of creating a minimalist home that would fuse the outdoor and indoor environment together. The home consists of large seamless glass windows overlooking the ocean and wide open spaces that clients can use to entertain their guests. The use of Zebrano and Wenge veneers is skillfully used throughout the home, following the clean and elegant look of the architecture. Figured French ash wall paneling is placed in the living room to contrast against the black granite hearth and the dark Espresso floors. The master suite follows the same use of contrast. A television is hidden within the master bath mirror, adding the final touch of luxury.
The wardrobe area is located behind the Wenge paneled vanity wall. The clients’ taste for high fashion was used as the inspiration for their wardrobe space. The outcome consisted of a sleek and elegant wardrobe with a beautiful light ash veneer complimented by a sophisticated Wenge stained accent. The contrast between the light and dark veneers created the clean and Oriental feel. Clear and etched glass inserts on the cabinet doors allow the clients to “shop” for their wardrobe and have quick access to their belongings. The wardrobe provides ample space for storage with the use of multiple hang rods, dedicated shoe cabinets and drawer space. A seat is conveniently located at the end of the island. A three-way folded mirror provides the finishing touch to this wardrobe, creating the client’s own version of Bergdorf Goodman within the pleasure of their own home.
